Ride notes
Surface, traffic and weather change how long a route feels. Read these notes before you leave a Kyiv or Lviv pickup point, and adjust the ride time on the route card.
Cobblestone covers much of the old centre in both cities, and tram rails sit flush with the asphalt. Lower your speed on stone, cross rails at a right angle, and expect short gravel patches on park paths. City bikes handle it; scooters with small wheels need more care.
Weekday mornings and late afternoons are the busiest windows. Khreshchatyk and the Lviv ring see steady car traffic, so plan the central segments early or after 19:00. Use bike lanes and permitted roads, never sidewalks or pedestrian zones.
Rain makes paving slabs and painted markings slick, and wind picks up on the Dnipro embankments. If a shower starts, shorten the loop and return by the nearest pickup address. Winter ice and snow close most suggested routes.
Routes are timed for daylight. In shoulder seasons the light fades before the last stop, so start earlier or cut a stop. Evening rides stay inside lit streets and end at a listed pickup point.
Riders must be 18 or older with a valid ID or passport, and a driver licence may be required for certain vehicle classes. Helmets come with every rental and must be worn where local law requires it.
Route cards are self-guided suggestions with timed stops, not guided tours. Traffic conditions are never guaranteed. Questions about a specific street? Send a rental request and we will answer before you ride.
